Byron is President & CEO of Life Works Entertainment. In this role, Byron provides executive production and consulting services across the entertainment industry. In response to hurricanes Helene and Milton, Byron served as Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the United Way Benefit for Hurricane Relief which aired on CBS and Country Music Television generating over 2 billion impressions and $11M support for those affected by the hurricanes. Byron has worked on a variety of productions across Paramount Global including One Love, Gladiator II, Danger Force, Loud House, That Girl Lay Lay, etc.
A multi-hyphenate, Byron is also the Visionary & Chief Creative Officer of The Valdecio Collection, a luxury lifestyle brand. Byron has been featured at LA Fashion Week, NY Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week, highlighting a variety of products including fragrances, time pieces, sunglasses and apparel. An accomplished business and nonprofit executive and humanitarian with decades of experience leading strategic partnerships., Byron leads global revenue diversification efforts at United Way Worldwide guiding a network of over 1,000 local United Ways with revenue exceeding $4B.
The former President & CEO of the National Job Corps Association, Byron served as the Chairman of the National Family Engagement Alliance, a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of Phoenix, the CEO of the National PTA, and the first Chief of Staff for the Office of Public Affairs at U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Byron was also instrumental in the success of ConnectED, a partnership with the White House during the Obama Administration, and Helping America’s Youth for the Bush Administration, bringing together nine federal agencies to support youth outcomes.
An accomplished author, Byron is celebrating the release of the Byron V. Garrett Life and Literacy Skills library published by Scholastic. Byron is an Ed.D. Candidate in Educational Leadership, Administration, and Policy at Pepperdine University, holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Arts in Human Relations from High Point University. He has served as a subject matter expert for multiple national news outlets, and he has been recognized for his leadership as Ebony’s Power 150 Most Influential Black Americans and on Black Enterprise’s Modern Man 100 list.
